At Drew, health and wellness aren’t one-size-fits-all. It’s a thoughtful, highly personalized approach that includes kind and accessible counseling, a relevant and inclusive health curriculum, and everyday support systems woven into daily life.

Counseling Program

Drew’s school counseling program is a cornerstone of our commitment to student well-being. We provide individualized, responsive support to help teenagers navigate the ups and downs of high school and life. Whether it’s stress, anxiety, identity, grief, or something harder to name, support is always available.

There’s no stigma around seeking help here. Students can drop in, email, or schedule time–whatever feels right. And the vibe? More “just come say hi” than “only if it’s serious.”

Counseling that meets you
where you are.

Sometimes you need advice.
Sometimes you just need
someone to listen.

Meet Kirsten

Kirsten Fawcett-Dubow (she/her), LCSW, joined the Drew community in 2023 after more than 20 years in clinical social work. Kirsten has worked predominantly in adolescent mental health her entire career—in schools, social service agencies, and private practice. No matter the setting, she loves any time she gets to spend with teenagers—learning, problem-solving, and supporting both teens and their families.

Health & wellness classes that are refreshingly real.
We talk about stuff that matters.

Health & Wellness

Drew’s health and wellness curriculum covers the things that high school students really want to understand: identity, healthy relationships, mental health, sexual health, consent, and substance safety. All ninth-graders take part in semester-long sessions that are inclusive, honest, and rooted in open dialogue.

We believe our students are ready for thoughtful, nuanced conversations, so we create space for exactly that. Classes are discussion-based, relevant, and designed to support the whole student.

Support whenever, wherever.

Because help shouldn’t be hard to find.

We’ve built support structures into the school day that help students feel seen and supported from every angle. At Drew, Advisors serve as student advocates and act as the liaison between students, their families, and Drew throughout all four years.

Block Schedule

Dedicated meeting time in the daily schedule for extra help, connection, or catching your breath.

LCA'S

Each grade level has a Lead Class Advisor who oversees the advisory program and organizes fun activities that foster class unity and genuine belonging.

Advising

Small groups of about 10-12 students from the same grade and led by faculty who offer consistent guidance, encouragement, and community.

The support at Drew is truly like a breath of fresh air. Our counselor, Kirsten, is great and everyone talks to her even about little things. But beyond counseling, the whole Drew community is so supportive. Everyone is always there to talk: your teachers, peers, and other faculty. If I’m having a problem, I always know there is someone at Drew who has my back.

Sydney, Grade 12

You don’t need a reason to stop by. Whatever it is, we’ve got your back.

Drew’s school counselor and advisors are here to listen, guide, and show up for students (and adults, too) — whether they are navigating something big or just need a quick check-in. It’s not about having all the answers. It’s about having someone who gets it.
