The Leadership Lab is a bold, real-world learning program that transforms academic knowledge into leadership, innovation, and impact. The Leadership Lab offers access to real-world experiences that extend far beyond the classroom. From foundational skills to selective senior-year capstones, students accelerate their growth and participate in college-worthy experiences —and discover their purpose—at every stage of their Drew experience.

Leadership Lab Core –
Leading with Responsibility, Learning with Purpose

All students participate in Leadership Lab Core curriculum, which includes Drew’s annual Experiential Week (DEALL), leadership training via advisories, and electives that emphasize real-world application across disciplines. Whether students are designing solutions, writing legislation, or launching ideas, our Core curriculum equips them with the mindset and tools to lead with purpose.

Leadership Lab Tracks –
Choose Your Pathway to Impact

Students can opt into 20+ leadership and experiential tracks, each designed to ignite their passions, allow them to explore new interests, and affirm their individual identities. Whether it's developing critical thinking skills, fostering collaborative teamwork, or building confidence through hands-on challenges, each track provides a supportive environment for growth and self-discovery.

These tracks foster depth, collaboration, and authentic problem-solving in dynamic team-based environments.

Students can try new tracks each year or continue for multiple years. Currently, approximately 50% of Drew students participate in at least one track per year and many choose two or three tracks.

Leadership Lab –
Capstone Project for Seniors

All seniors participate in the Senior Capstone Project, a yearlong experience dedicated to developing a personal capstone project. Students intern with mission-aligned partners, conduct field research, and design solutions that address real community needs—culminating in a public Community Showcase. This is where Drew students step fully into the role of scholar-leaders ready to make an impact.

Senior Project Playbook

The amount of leadership opportunities Drew offers is definitely one of the most unique aspects of Drew. I talk to my friends at other schools, and maybe they're in leadership or one of their friends are.

The supportive culture we’ve created makes it easier for students to reach outside of their comfort zones to learn and grow, and a full ⅓ of our students participate in leadership roles.
