About Us

María López Larios, Dean of Students

María has been a proud member of the Drew community for over a decade, serving in roles including classroom teacher, Lead Class Advisor, Associate Dean of Students, and now Dean of Students. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Spanish Language and Literature from the Universidad de Castilla la Mancha. Her journey at Drew has been one of continuous growth as an educator, a leader, and a parent of a Drew alumna, currently a Biomedical Engineering student at Johns Hopkins University. María describes Drew not only as the place where she works, but as a community she deeply loves and believes in. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels seen, heard, and empowered to thrive both academically and personally. When she is not at Drew, María and her partner can be found cheering on the Golden State Valkyries and Bay FC at every home game, and tuning in without fail when they play away.
