Karena Zakhour-Bacciocco

Karena Zakhour-Bacciocco previously ran a manufacturing business that sold components to the semi-conductor industry and has been retired since 2024. 

 

Karena served as a member of the Board of Trustees at Drew from 2011 – 2019. She led the Trustee and Head Transition Committees. She is currently a CASA member in Marin County and volunteers with Marin Foster Care Association.

 

Karena has always valued Drew’s commitment to understanding and investing in each student, helping them thrive in a safe, inspiring environment. As a member of the newly developed Drew Trustee Emeritus Committee, she brings a historical perspective on the school’s evolution, strong operational expertise, and a deep desire to ensure Drew’s continued excellence for generations to come. Her professional background and dedication to student-centered learning align with the school’s mission to foster intellectual curiosity and personal growth. Karena is honored to contribute her knowledge and passion to support Drew’s vibrant and inclusive future.

 

Karena grew up locally and graduated from American University where she studied Finance.

She and her husband Jeff have two children, son Kyle and daughter Alexis. Kyle graduated from Drew in 2015 and is currently working in the real estate industry in San Luis Obispo. Alexis graduated from Drew in 2012 and is currently working as a HR business partner for a tech company in the Bay Area. Alexis remains actively engaged to Drew through her involvement with the Drew Alumni Council. Karena and her family enjoy travel, taking long walks with their dog and playing pickleball.
