Global Awareness

The Global Awareness curriculum uses a wide array of teaching materials to connect subject-based academic skills with real life critical thinking opportunities. Over the course of the year we host speakers, view documentary films, and engage in student and teacher-led workshops. Our programmatic ties to community service organizations locally and worldwide will deepen our students' understanding of the world in which they live. This year-long program culminates in 280 Day: Awareness Into Action, a community-driven day full of workshops and speakers that celebrate activism in our community.

Our Mission

The mission of the Global Awareness Program is to address the need for our school community to experience current events and understand the challenges we inherit as global citizens. This program provides our community with the opportunity to connect discipline-based academic skills through global understanding. We integrate real life critical thinking opportunities, promote creativity, collaboration, communication, and develop personal character through integrity and compassion.
Drew knows and believes in teenagers. We engage each student in a process of intellectual discovery to develop an individual voice, the confidence to express it, and the empathy to understand its impact.
