Students Complete Student Lounge Makeover

Students in Social Entrepreneurship class have completed a remodel of the student lounge. The space has historically lacked definition, design, and appeal. The students studied and applied Human Centered Design theory, which entailed surveying their fellow students and other stakeholders.
After assessing the identified needs and problems of the space, the students visited One Workplace, IDEO, and two different WeWork spaces for inspiration. The students designed mood boards to set the feeling of the overall space and evaluated different furniture solutions that addressed problems of the space identified through surveys.

The student workgroup was very intentional about the remodel—transforming the space into something that resembled a European cafe hotel lobby. The students executed this while managing a real but lean budget.
