Students in Maria De Los Angeles Lopez Larios' Spanish 4 class work in small groups to craft short stories in a variety of genres using preterite and imperfect.
Spanish 4 is a comprehensive review of Spanish grammar that places emphasis on improving composition and conversation skills while expanding vocabulary. Developing cooperative learning, teamwork, and individual skills, students use real life task-based activities to practice the four skills in the target language with authentic Spanish-language materials. The class includes readings and discussions on cultures and peoples whose primary language is Spanish, emphasizing similarities and points of contrast with the culture of the United States. The course is taught entirely in Spanish, and students are expected to communicate with each other and with the instructor in Spanish. This course makes ample use of technology as a mode of exploring the Spanish-speaking world.
