Advanced Painting Projects

Students in Lisa Bostwick's Advanced Painting class work on various self-directed projects intended for future exhibition.
Advanced Painting provides in-depth studio experience for students with prior painting experience. Students create a body of related work, write and revise an artist statement, conduct research, explore exhibition venues, and present their work to audiences in and outside the classroom. Units on abstraction, world painting cultures and portraiture are designed to hone skills and critical thinking in the rst semester. In the second semester, students focus exclusively on developing their body of work for exhibition.
