Jenn Guittard
Jenn Guittard is a clinical psychologist in private practice in San Francisco. For over ten years she was an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco, teaching in the undergraduate Department of Psychology. In private practice Jenn works with adults and adolescents seeking help with a wide range of psychological and interpersonal issues. Jenn also works with parents helping them to discover and incorporate psychological insight about their child into their parenting.
Jenn earned her Ph.D. in 1996. Her doctoral research examined deeper, emotional aspects of resilience, while also highlighting some previously unacknowledged risks that can accompany high functioning survivors. Jennifer is a founding board member of the Terra Marin School, a progressive K-8 dedicated to multicultural and environmental awareness, and long time Board member of Guittard Chocolate Company.
Jenn is a fifth-generation San Franciscan and believes in Drew’s commitment to navigating 21st century education within a world of instantaneous data, and creating graduates who demonstrate the ability to think outside the box, communicate effectively, and bravely use their own voice. Drawing from both her professional and personal life, Jenn brings her dedication and passion for the high school experience to the Drew Board of Trustees. Jenn graduated summa cum laude from the University of San Francisco (USF), earned her Ph.D. in 1996 from California School of Professional Psychology, an APA-accredited psychology program, and was a pre- and postdoctoral fellow at University of California of San Francisco (UCSF). Jenn is married to Tim Grace and their oldest children Jack, Drew class of 2018, and Jae, Drew class of 2020 matriculated to Pitzer and Barnard College respectively. Watching her children navigate the next phase of life, Jenn is well positioned to see the positive, postgraduate impact of a Drew education. Their youngest child Gabe, was adopted from Guatemala, bringing diversity, energy, and youth to their now biracial family. Gabe attends Presidio Hill School and is excited for the High School years to come. The Guittard Grace family loves to laugh, eat good food, and be spontaneous.
