The Drew Conversation Series Featuring Denise Pope
The Drew Conversation Series is a series dedicated to bringing voices of impact-minded leaders, creators, and activists to the community to spark meaningful conversations. Drew is excited to share the first speaker of 23-24 school year; Denise Pope, Co-Founder of Challenge Success.
In a high-stakes, high-pressure culture, parent and school expectations may have unintentional but damaging effects on students. Increasing demands on students may lead to unhealthy stress, resulting in burnout, disengagement, or debilitating physical and mental health symptoms. This workshop examines the tension that parents/guardians, students, and teachers often experience over issues such as homework, grades, and the culture of competition and offers tools for creating a healthier school climate. In this session, parents will:
Learn how you can establish healthier home and school environments for school-aged children.
Explore how to reduce academic stress and disengagement without sacrificing achievement.
Examine how to increase students’ resilience, creativity, competence, and well-being.
The workshop is open to all Drew community members and families participating in the Admissions process. For more information about attending the engagement, please email Selena Shadle, Director of Advancement.
Drew knows and believes in teenagers. We engage each student in a process of intellectual discovery to develop an individual voice, the confidence to express it, and the empathy to understand its impact.
