Leadership Opportunities

Drew School is an incubator for leaders. Students can take advantage of leadership courses, weekly student-run assemblies, countless student-led workshops and events, 25 clubs and affinity spaces, and more than 10 student leadership organizations. These opportunities exist so that all students, not just a select few, have authentic ways of growing their leadership skills.

Leadership Organizations

Each of these  leadership organizations is charged with a different aspect of the community.  Groups meet at least once a week during their elective block to plan and execute programs and events, which includes the management of complex budgets. These leadership organizations give everyone the opportunity to develop their capacity to lead in a meaningful way, while enhancing student life here at Drew.

Leadership organizations at Drew are responsible for student-created and student-run signature events and initiatives on campus. Some examples of these include:
  • The 415 Festival: A one-of-a-kind annual event, presented by the Associated Student Body (ASB), that celebrates life in the Bay Area through food, dance, and music.
  • Wellness Summit: An annual mental health focused event, hosted by Bring Change 2 Mind, Drew’s student-run mental health awareness club.
  • Drew Leadership Summit: An event that brings together a small group of students from around the Bay Area who have leadership experience and gives them access to special projects that Drew student leaders are working on as leaders of their community.
  • The Student Cafe: A cafe completely run by a student leadership group that is open daily, with proceeds benefiting student life.
  • Winter Formal: A themed, annual student planned and implemented event.
  • Service Coalition: A service organization run by students that provides service opportunities for students and families throughout the school year, such as food kitchens, beach clean-ups, food drives, trail maintenance, and fund drives for local non-profits.
  • Equity Workshops: Student run workshops and affinity groups that strengthen DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belong) initiatives at Drew.
Drew knows and believes in teenagers. We engage each student in a process of intellectual discovery to develop an individual voice, the confidence to express it, and the empathy to understand its impact.
