Supporting Drew

    • Lyla Max

      Director of Advancement

Drew School is a very generous community. Led by its Board of Trustees, current and past parents, alumni, faculty, and friends all join the effort to provide the financial support we need to deliver on our mission every day.

Drew is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a Board of Trustees. Charitable contributions are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. An independent school, Drew receives no tax or religious funding.

We invite you to explore ways that you, too, can make a difference at Drew through your own philanthropy.

List of 4 items.

  • Annual Fund

Like most non-profits, each fall Drew launches a campaign to raise money to support the operating budget and our programs. The Annual Fund is the centerpiece of Drew’s fundraising program, and is essential to provide the enriched program and the quality teaching that we do. Our leadership giving level starts $2,500 but we gratefully accept gifts of any amount. We strive for 100% family participation. Gifts can be made by check or by credit card on our secure online giving page.
  • Cuddeback Faculty Fund

In recognition of former Head of School Sam Cuddeback's 25 years of leadership at Drew, the Board of Trustees has established a special fund to benefit the faculty through immediate and sustainable increased compensation, professional development opportunities, and other programmatic enhancements. It was Sam's request that the teachers be the beneficiaries of any and all giving related to his retirement.

Leading up to and at Sam's retirement party on April 16, 2016, a total of $624,000 has been raised to date. A huge thank you to all who participated in this milestone moment for Sam and for Drew.
  • Funding Drew's Future

To sustain Drew School and ensure its unique place within the San Francisco educational community, we embarked on a major gifts initiative in the winter of 2012. This program will result in a significant reduction of the debt incurred to expand Drew’s physical plant including the beautiful Cuddeback Wing. To date, we’ve raised $4 million in gifts and pledges. Commitments of $50,000 - $1,000,000+ are sought for this important initiative.
  • John Magee Endowment Fund

In recognition of 24 years of service to Drew, John’s family established an endowment fund at Drew. The John Magee Endowment Fund will help support ongoing programming in the Cuddeback Wing, as well as financial aid for student travel and faculty professional development.

Drew knows and believes in teenagers. We engage each student in a process of intellectual discovery to develop an individual voice, the confidence to express it, and the empathy to understand its impact.
