Hilary Seligman

Hilary Seligman is Professor of Medicine and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at University of California San Francisco, where her work focuses on food insecurity and US food policy. In this capacity, she directs the CDC’s Nutrition and Obesity Policy Research and Evaluation Network and the UCSF School of Medicine’s National Clinician Scholars Program. She also founded  EatSF, a food voucher program for people in San Francisco experiencing food insecurity. Known as Vouchers 4 Veggies outside of San Francisco, EatSF has expanded under her leadership to be one of the largest produce prescription programs in the US.
 
Hilary serves as Senior Medical Advisor to Feeding America, the nation’s largest non-profit dedicated to eliminating hunger in the US.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for the SF-Marin Food Bank, and previously on the Board of Directors for Nourish California.
 
Hilary completed her undergraduate studies at Williams College, medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, and internal medicine residency at UCSF. She also holds a Master’s of Advanced Studies in clinical research from UCSF. She has three children, two in college and one in the Drew class of 2025.
