Dia de los Muertos Meets the Qingming Festival

Students in Spanish 1 join students in Mandarin 4 for a cultural exchange lesson around Dia de los Muertos and the Qingming Festival.

Spanish students explained the significance, culture, and traditions around Dia de los Muertos before showing off the nichos they had created to honor deceased people they knew or admired. Mandarin students gave an overview of the Qingming Festival and showed the ritual offerings they had created for loved ones who have passed.

The group culminated the activity by adding their creations to the schoolwide Dia de los Muertos altar.
