Dragons hang on for 1-0 win in Reptile Rumble

Mr. Free
The Varsity Boy's Soccer team capped off a 3-win night for Drew in the 2nd Annual "Reptile Rumble" hosted by Gateway.  In an evening that featured 3 games between the two schools and a barbeque, sponsored by State Farm, there was a great deal of comaraderie and excitement throughout.  The night cap featured two evenly matched squads who continuously put pressure on one another.  Just before half, Tristan Manders found a crease and put a great shot on goal which ricocheted off the post before finding the foot of Theo Street who drove home the games only goal.  The score sent the crowd into a frenzy as one of the largest turnouts in Drew history was on hand to take in the action.  The final minutes saw Gateway turn up the pressure as they played with desperation to equalize, but could not find the net as Chalom Rosenberg made numerous big saves.  The Dragons improved to 7-2-1 with a 4-2 record in league.  They travel to JCHS on Sept. 26th looking to continue their good fortune.
