Fundraisers, Murals, Art Shows - Oh My!
Last week we honored exemplary Senior Project work from four members of the senior class who demonstrated extraordinary leadership and contributions to the community. The students delivered symposium presentations that spoke to their preparation, challenges and successes along the way, and learning outcomes they will carry forward. Senior Projects are active, self-designed projects that lie at the intersection of students' passion (interest), and what matters to the world (purpose), and what is realistic (capacity).
Xiara Clayton and Nicholas Wong designed and painted a large 3-wall mural in the student lounge (stay tuned for the final result!). Morgan Sanders critically evaluated our student leadership training and leveraged her leadership role in Drew’s Honor Council to design a workshop to better prepare students to lead. Argus Silver subverted traditional notions of art sales with his “Steal the Art Show” that featured his photography displayed in cycles at an off campus gallery open to the public to steal. And Alex Silver partnered with LYRIC to raise awareness and funds to support unhoused queer youth in SF.
