Second Annual DEALLFest

This school wide student-led event created celebrated and reflected on lessons and skills learned during DEALL week.
This past Thursday, we held our second annual DEALLFest - an event created by students to celebrate and reflect on lessons and skills learned during DEALL week. Each DEALL group created a 45 minute interactive space to share the themes and skills from their DEALL program with the school community. Throughout the all-day event, the school was filled with creative energy, curiosity, and the smell of delicious food! Here are a few examples of the interactive spaces our students designed and facilitated:
  • Bay Area STEM constructed various exhibits, where participants could make slime, build a breadboard that lit up, and learn some science!
  • Reaching New Heights taught the community how to tie climbing knots, and witnessed a live demo of climbing techniques on a rope set on the building.
  • We experienced Incredible India through a tasty Indian meal, hands decorated with mehendi, and lessons on various Indian festivals.
  • The students in Bay Area Theater simulated an auditory-stimulation activity, and had the audience participate in an improv-acting exercise.
A huge shoutout to everyone who made DEALLFest the incredible day that it was - We are so proud of our students for putting on such a wonderful event!

And a special thank-you to Kim McCabe, Director of Experiential Learning, for all the work she put into making DEALL the best it could have been this year. We can't wait to see what comes next!
