2008 Auction Evening Was Alive with Motown
This year’s auction on March 29th was a record-breaking success! “Drew’s Got Soul,” this year’s Parent and Guardian Association fundraiser, was held at the Presidio’s Golden Gate Club and featured San Francisco’s famous culinary fare ranging from North Beach to Chinatown specialties. The silent auction was accompanied by the talented sounds of several of Drew’s student bands, and was followed by an enthusiastic live auction. The evening wrapped up with an energetic performance by the headlining band, Bobby Vickers (aka Bud E. Luv) and his Big Band Motown Show.

The bidding was competitive during this year’s live auction! Top bids included a week at a beachfront Cape Cod home, wine tasting on FDR’s historical yacht on the San Francisco Bay, Oakland A’s and Giants box seats, a weekend in Las Vegas, a week in Costa Rica, and private jet excursion. The Fund- A- Program, benefiting the Mr. Jowell Fund, also smashed all records. This year the P/GA introduced an online auction in addition to silent and live auctions. All event and auction proceeds will directly benefit student programs, faculty professional development, and financial aid partnership.
