FAQs
- When do we sign up for DEALL? Hide
Follow the registration procedures on the registration information page. Registration forms are due to your advisor on October 30th.
- Once I sign-up and am approved, can I change into another activity? Hide
Yes. There will be a time to change after the first list is posted.
- Can I sign up with friends so we can do DEALL together? Hide
Generally yes as long as you indicate that interest on the sign-up sheet and there is space within the activity.
- What is the Faculty Student Ratio for DEALL trips? Hide
The ratio is anticipated to be one faculty member to 5-10 students.
- Is financial aid available for DEALL trips? Hide
Yes, limited financial aid is available only to those students who have previously qualified for tuition grants. DEALL grants are based on financial need and are administered independently of tuition grants. The maximum grant available to any student for any DEALL activity will be 50% of the cost of the activity. If you currently receive a tuition grant of less than 50%, then your tuition grant percentage is the maximum percentage available to you for a DEALL grant. There is no guarantee that we will be able to award maximum grants to any individual. Awards will be dependent on our budget and the number of applicants for aid. You can open and print a copy of the financial aid form found at DEALL papers section. You need Adobe Acrobat to view the form (get it from www.adobe.com)
- What happens if I'm sick and I can't do DEALL? Hide
DEALL is a required school activity, but in cases of illness, there will be make up activities for you to fulfill the requirement.
- What about school rules, especially on trips? Hide
All school rules, including rules for substance use, apply for DEALL. Students breaking any school rules will be appropriately disciplined.
- Do I need special insurance for DEALL? Hide
Special insurance is not necessary. Your personal health insurance and school liability insurance will be in effect.
- How do I reach a student on a DEALL trip in case of emergency? Hide
Emergency contact information will be left with the school office. In some cases, contact may not be immediately possible due to the logistics, especially on wilderness trips.
- Is there any priority given for enrollment in DEALL activities? Hide
Preference for particular courses will be given based on Drew School citizenship, seniority, and needs of the trip. There will be an attempt to place all students with their first choice, subject to enrollment limits. In cases of limitations, priority may be given to students who haven’t participated in the specific DEALL activity before or to students who may not have another opportunity to participate in DEALL again.
