Senior Project

Senior project resources for current families and faculty can be found under the DrewNet menu.

Seniors conclude their years at Drew with a 3-week-long faculty-guided individual project which they conceive, engage in and present to the entire school prior to graduation.  The goal is to allow seniors to experience the challenges and pleasures of working independently as they will in college and beyond.  Drew seniors actively take part in their education and make links between classroom experiences and the real world.

Past Senior Projects have included: legal advocacy work; working closely with doctors and an OBGYN; creating portfolios of paintings and short stories; learning to use sophisticated digital art and digital music software to create multi-media pieces; preparing to launch a nationwide rock band summer tour; and scriptwriting and film making.  Teacher-mentors advise students throughout the project and help them develop a final presentation which is appropriate to the nature of their project—be it a performance, screening, art show, or written work about their experience. The mentors monitor students’ progress and attendance by meeting with them at school or visiting students on-site.
