Welcome

At Drew, the classroom is only the beginning of a well-balanced comprehensive education.  “Drew Life” is about making the connections between the intellect and the heart, school and the community.

Drew students are responsible citizens who participate in community service.  They are also curious “experiential learners” who, through Drew’s unique DEALL (Drew Education for Active Lifelong Learning) program, spend a week every March intensively exploring a personal interest, whether through a trip to El Salvador to practice Spanish and gain a deeper understanding of sustainable development in Latin America, or through an internship in fields from finance to medicine.

Furthermore, every student chooses two Friday Electives each term to deepen artistic or academic knowledge, get physically active, or learn life skills like cooking.  Seniors take independent study a step further with their three-week Senior Projects.  Drew’s program also emphasizes self-knowledge, and offers extensive advising and counseling resources to help students develop an understanding of their inner world and its intersection with  school, family, friends and the larger world.  Drew recognizes the responsibility we all have as members of a “global village,” and has recently launched The Global Affairs Initiative, a program designed to inform students of issues affecting our world through cultural events, speakers and summer programs.
