Every year, Drew students participate in DEALL Days, a week of school outside the classroom that furthers Drew’s commitment to ensuring students make connections between what they learn and how it is applied in the “real world.” DEALL Days projects are a chance to foster students’ independence and originality. Students have a wide array of choices in how to spend their DEALL week. Far-ranging offerings include ecological and sustainable development trips to Latin America, to arts-focused trips to Europe. Adventuresome students can choose a camping trip in the Santa Cruz Mountains or kayaking in the Sea of Cortez. Closer to home, students can explore academic interests like poetry and film-making, learn to sail, brush up on their tennis, delve into arts like screen printing and sculpture, or take a leap into the professional world by taking on an internship.
