Philosophy/Program

The athletics program at Drew is designed to provide student-athletes with opportunities to achieve athletic excellence and to learn vital team-building skills.  Drew fields competitive varsity teams but usually does not make “cuts” from junior varsity teams.  All students are encouraged to join a team and get involved in athletics at Drew regardless of their background or skill level.  Interest in a sport, such as cross country, can translate into a new team!  Drew debuted its cross country team in Fall 2006, and in one season has some true “golden sneaker” runners.

Drew School is a member of Bay Area Conference and plays in the highly competitive Bay Counties League West, which has produced several Division V North Coast Section and State playoff champions.  The Dragon Athletics program consists of fifteen varsity and junior varsity teams.  Seven of the nine varsity sports are coached by Drew faculty and staff, and 120 of Drew’s 250 students participate in Drew’s Athletic program.
